"No. No!" he kept mumbling to himself, pacing the common room nervously. This couldn't be happening now. And he knew that it wasn't Amanda that had snuck into his room and hid his a few key tools of his.
They were in the common room, he hoped. But he couldn't very well just turn the place inside out looking for a glue gun and exact-o knife. |

He had originally come with his little sister, Amanda, because his mother was too busy with some work to do it herself. This meant that Travis had to teach Amanda how to floo for the first time. It resulted in a very messy sister running all around the Alley, making the cleaner wizards almost as dirty.
Soon though, she got bored with him and spotted one of few classmates she tolerated and had run off.
This left Travis with a lot of time on his hands and his summer allowance to spend, seeing as he had already taken care of all his school supplies. So, first the boy went down to the candy shop for some sweets.
"Oh, Merlin," he groaned, seeing his sister dart around inside the Weasley's shoppe. That wasn't going to end very well.
His stomach growled so Travis treated himself to a big ice cream sundae. It was weird but he felt like he hadn't had any ice cream all summer. And well, as we all know, ice cream brings on wonderful things because there, as he was looking for a table, he saw somebody he hadn't seen since school ended.
"Is this seat taken?" he asked, feeling like the line was a corny pick up and hated that he had sounded like that. |

- Unclog the sink
- Trim the hedges
- Do half of the laundry
Mum says it'll make me more of a 'man'.

"This is going to be good," he said to himself inside his tiny workshop. He hadn't really built anything since that first time Natalie had come over. But then, like fireworks, an idea had hit him.
Travis had to do a lot of sneaking around. If Amanda even had the slightest idea about this, she'd be at the door right now breaking in. So the boy had to quiet and work only when his sister was off at play dates.
The alarm rang. She'd be home from the store with his mum in fifteen minutes. That was just enough time to clean everything up, lock up the shed, and get to his room.
Just before he headed out, Travis looked back.
"At this rate, this will take all summer," he sighed. |

"Mum, I told you I was visiting Jake last week," he said, his bag already packed.
"Really?" Mrs. Briggs said, looking a bit confused with cookie dough in her hair and on her face. Amanda was having a few friends over and needed home made cookies. No wonder she was a little crazy today.
"Yeah, and then I told you about...you know what," Travis said, fake whispering.
At this, it finally clicked for his mother.
"OH! Then, go, go!" she said, grinning, "Have fun, behave, call me when you get there, and be home by the end of the week!"
"Fair enough," he grinned, then stepped into the fireplace and headed to Natalie's. |

Travis was happy. Not just happy, excited. It had been a while since he just kicked back and sailed one of his boats. Even during the summer something always got in his way and stopped him from having a good time.
However, today was different. Today there was no last minute homework to do, prefect duty, or drama going on.
"Kyle!" he grin, spotting his step-brother. |

Some of the time being a perfect really sucked, like when he felt guilty that Natalie was the only Fab Four member not one. But other times it was great, like when he got to walk the halls with authority. Travis had never actually felt like he ever had any authority before but give a kid a shiny badge and it'll change him.
Some time after he had finished lunch, he turned into an empty hallway. Travis had thought he heard something so he went to go check it out. |

I'm worried about Amanda. She's just not the same since the Halloween ball. I think when Julie was bit, it really freaked her out.
Now she's more angry than ever.
